On June 16, 2025, the G7 Leaders released the Kananaskis Common Vision for the Future of Quantum Technologies — the first time quantum has been formally recognized as a shared strategic priority at the G7 Leaders’ level.

In response, Quantum Industry Canada (QIC) has issued a statement welcoming this historic milestone and emphasizing the importance of public-private collaboration, SME growth, trusted partnerships, and coordinated global action to ensure quantum technologies are deployed as trusted economic and security capabilities.
